So far this school year, in our manners and etiquette curriculum we have covered; greetings, punctuality, politeness/good manners, kindness and sharing/turn taking.
Our next unit will be the habits of discussion. We will be having an assembly about this on Monday 16th March. Please talk to your child/ren about the topics covered so far, so see what they can remember and to keep the topics ‘alive’.
I met with the school council recently and we talked about DEIB- Diversity, Equity, Inclusivity and Belonging. The pupils all celebrated how diverse our school is and the pupils felt that they saw themselves in our workforce and in the resources that we use in school. The school council has decided that they would like to introduce a ‘language of the week’ in the summer term and they have decided to produce some posters about inclusivity.
They will be launching the first ‘language of the week’ on Monday 23rd March. The pupils will be launching the initiative in assembly and they will be provisioning the resources for staff to use.
My Child at School (MCAS) Parent App – Important Notice
We use the MCAS Parent App as our main platform for communication and we have found that it is more user friendly if downloaded on your phone via the App Store.
It has also come to our attention that not everyone is receiving notifications or messages from us. You MUST have the MCAS App downloaded on your phone if you want to receive any INSTANT notifications or messages from school.
In order to sort this issue, please go to your mobile phone settings, go to the notifications section and find MCAS and you then need to make sure ‘allow notifications’ is ticked. If you need help with this, please come to the school office and we will be happy to help.
