Welcome to Reception

Reception pupils follow the early years curriculum, which consists of seven areas of learning. Children are exposed to a combination of direct teaching, whole class and in small groups as well as continuous provision. They will have the opportunity to explore and learn in our indoor and outdoor spaces every day.
Children are exposed to a wide curriculum including music, computing and PE taught by specialist teachers. As a team, we strive to support each child to build their love of learning and prepare them for their school experiences.

Made for learning

Reception classrooms are interactive, engaging with activities set up to further develop your child’s language development. Our well-equipped, large outdoor area will support your child’s fine and gross motor skills as well as enabling them to engage in imaginative play.

Curriculum

Pupils in Reception are taught in accordance with the Department for Education’s early years foundation stage guidance. Topics are chosen to reflect pupil interests and needs.
